OpusVi's Medical Assistant Training Program

The Oswego County Workforce New York and OpusVi are partnering to offer a comprehensive Medical Assisting Program, starting January 6, 2024, to allow members of the community the support to become certified free of charge.
This collaboration aims to equip local residents with essential skills for the healthcare industry, addressing the growing demand for medical assistants in the region. The program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, ensuring participants are well-prepared for today’s healthcare environment. 
This initiative reflects the commitment of both organizations to support career aspirations and strengthen the local workforce.

Our co-created Medical Assisting program combines 120 years of educating healthcare professionals provided by Mercy College of Health Sciences with cutting-edge learning science to ensure that our learning experience is engaging, social, and prepares students for the real job.

  • Active and adaptive learning experiences and simulations: Students learn through interactive textbooks and multimedia content, supported by interactive online activities. Additionally, using a Medical Office Simulation Software, learners build skills through over 100 fully digital practice and assessment simulations, mimicking the software they will use on the job.

  • Social learning: Learners can easily engage, share knowledge, and discuss the program content with others using our discussion tool.   

  • Flexible to meet your needs: The learning content is asynchronous, allowing students to learn on their own schedule. The coursework can be completed easily on any device like your computer, phone, or tablet.

  • Using proven learning science: We use tried and tested learning principles, cognitive science, and AI to increase knowledge retention and support study habits.
