Eligibility

The Equity Impact Scholarship is open to all U.S. citizens and permanent residents. It is open to everyone regardless of current occupation. Current or potential healthcare workers are welcome to apply, it is not limited to employees of CommonSpirit Health. In order to be eligible, the personal statement must be between 800 and 2000 words. We do accept applications on a rolling basis, and applicants may apply more than once (see details on dates and timing).

Equity Impact Scholarship Fund Terms and Conditions (Certificate Programs)

  • OpusVi shall have full discretion to decide all questions regarding the awarding of scholarships and the administration of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship Award. Applicants shall have no claim against OpusVi on the basis of the failure to award a scholarship or OpusVi’s evaluation of applications.
  • To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must: a) be enrolled in an OpusVi certificate and b) be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Students may only apply for one (1) scholarship per program. There is no limit on the number of programs a student may apply for. 
  • Recipients of a scholarship for a certificate program (not-credit bearing) may not defer enrolment after the scholarship has been awarded. This scholarship is non-transferable. Once enrolled, no deferrals to later intakes can be granted. 
  • Students who withdraw from the program are not entitled to any monetary value of the scholarship.  
  • To retain your scholarship you must also:
    • Maintain your attendance and academic performance, and immediately notify OpusVi of any extenuating circumstances that may prevent you from doing so
    • Remain a student in good standing
    • Adhere to the academic and administrative policies of OpusVi

  • OpusVi shall have full discretion to decide all questions regarding the awarding of scholarships and the administration of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship Award. Applicants shall have no claim against OpusVi on the basis of the failure to award a scholarship or OpusVi’s evaluation of applications.
  • To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must: a) be enrolled in a OpusVi degree program, and b) be a US citizen or permanent resident.
    • Students may only apply for one (1) scholarship per program. There is no limit on the number of programs a student may apply for. 
    • Recipients of a scholarship for a degree program (credit-bearing) must consult with the university and adhere to their protocols in regards to deferrals.
    • Students must remain in good academic standing, as defined by the university or college, to continue receiving funding.

Terms

Conditions
Students who have received scholarship funding are required to complete their academic program whether it is a degree or certificate. If a student drops out of the program or is unable to continue, they are no longer eligible to receive funding from the Equity Impact Scholarship and can no longer apply for future funding from this scholarship.

Dates and Timing
We welcome applications on a rolling basis as of July 15, 2021. It is eligible for programs that are between the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022. You can reapply for a program if you're not accepted in the first round. If you were not accepted initially, you must wait 6 months before applying again.

Scholarship Announcements and Publicity
Individuals who apply for the scholarship affirm that their content can be used by OpusVi for marketing purposes.

Scholarship applicants agree that they are willing and able to participate in all publicity efforts promoting the scholarship program and that their application submissions can be used for marketing efforts and storytelling. Recipients of the scholarship also allow OpusVi to use the individual’s participation in the program for publicity purposes. Such publicity may include news releases and media advisories, local and national media coverage, media interviews and photos, inclusion on the OpusVi website, and other similar public relations activities. All such materials remain the sole and exclusive property of OpusVi.

Scholarship Selection Process
A scholarship committee will review the nominations and all submitted application materials and select the scholarship recipients.

Scholarship Funding
There are no other associated costs for the ‘Eligible Programs’ once the scholarship is applied.

This scholarship is non-transferable. The scholarship can only be used for the selected intake. Once enrolled, no deferrals to later intakes can be granted.
