With hospitals and health systems at a breaking point, the whole industry is in need of leadership. Facing shortages amidst the pandemic, healthcare professionals have been confronted with new and unforeseen challenges. Traditional leadership practices are not designed to cope with the modern crises. In such extraordinary times, everyone is called upon to be a leader.

OpusVi is launching an online program named after the book that revolutionized management principles entitled “Heroic Leadership.” This course will transform healthcare workers into innovative, mindful, and purpose-driven leaders who can adapt to and drive change through the concepts of self-awareness, love, ingenuity, and heroism. This 30-day program features a cast of healthcare and leadership experts, including renowned, best-selling author of “Heroic Leadership”, Chris Lowney.

“Through the Heroic Leadership program, I bring together my life experiences and ideas to individuals in the healthcare industry. The course will teach them how to cope with stress, burnout, and anxiety in the post-COVID world, as well as what their role as a leader in the healthcare environment entails,” says Chris Lowney.

Inspired by the book “Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-Year-Old Company That Changed the World”

This program incorporates the heroic leadership concept into the everyday lives of all healthcare workers, regardless of job or role. This month-long certificate program, co-developed with Santa Clara University’s Silicon Valley Executive Center, not only provides learners clarity in their day-to-day decisions, but also helps them cultivate optimism and courage to go above and beyond in the workplace.

“More than ever, we need to re-evaluate the role of health professionals and communities, and how they can shape policy and population health. We believe that education and strong leadership are two drivers needed to steer the rapid change that is happening in our world in the right direction. We know that strong leadership goes hand in hand with courage, compassion, humility, and the ability to create a culture of growth and empowerment,” says OpusVi’s Chief Learning Experience Officer Kurt Hayes.

The curriculum also includes a 30-day optional workbook that may be completed daily or weekly. The first cohort of the Heroic Leadership program will launch in April of 2022.
