How is this program providing culturally-appropriate care to serve the diversity of California?
OpusVi fundamentally believes in and actively contributes to equity through education. In our Essentials of Person-Centered Memory Care program, the presentation of written content online is created so as to be appropriate for common “text to speech” readers for those with vision loss or impairment, or reading comprehension challenges. OpusVi will also offer both written and video learning content in English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin and Tagalog. Digital, asynchronous (“on-demand”) delivery promotes equitable access to education by limiting the need for transportation, childcare and other barriers.
Is this program accessible?
Our Essentials of Person-Centered Memory Care program is designed to be accessible from a broad range of devices, including desktop and mobile.
Will direct care workers in our organization receive an incentive for the completion of this program?
Yes, through the Learn and Earn Incentive, direct care workers can earn up to $500 for the completion of this program. $250 be given by way of an Amazon/Grocer gift card and up to $250 will be given to support hourly wage during the time of training.
Does my organization have to pay any fees for our direct care workers to take the program?
No, your organization is not financially responsible for this program. California’s Department of Aging launched the CalGrows Innovation Fund to cover the costs of professional development for direct care workers across the state.
