Certificate in Healthcare Analytics Launched by OpusVi and the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School

LOS ANGELES, CA

OpusVi has launched a second custom certificate with the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School — the Certificate in Healthcare Analytics for Decision-Makers. The program will equip healthcare professionals with a know-how for analytics that will enable them to make better-informed decisions, using hard evidence. Upon completion of the program, graduates will bring greater efficiencies and control across metrics like readmission rates, complication rates, and new market identification.

Healthcare organizations are under growing pressure to improve quality and efficiency while lowering costs and staying compliant with a myriad of regulatory requirements. McKinsey Global Institute cites that “Big data may have the potential to create approximately $300 billion annually in value in the health care sector, two-thirds of which would be generated by lowering health care expenditures.”

A Navigant survey of over 2,300 hospitals showed that “hospitals could reduce total supply chain costs by 17.8 percent, or up to $9.9 million per year if leaders focused on decreasing variation in pricing, product use, and clinical outcomes using best practices and insights from data analytics.” The article also highlighted that “With the savings, hospitals can invest in care delivery improvements. For example, supply chain savings stemming from the best practices could pay for the compensation of 150 registered nurses, the costs of 4,000 cardiac defibrillators, or the expenses for five Da Vinci robots.”
